Upcoming Events including this weekend & Award Nominations

Dear friends,

Weโ€™re excited to share details of our upcomingย end-of-year celebrationsย โ€” a chance to recognise all the hard work of our players (despite this being theย wettest August on record!).

Presentation Days
Saturday 30 August โ€“ Miniroos & Juniors (up to U15)
Time:ย From 9:00am until early afternoon
Activities:ย BBQ, fun photo opportunities, ice cream, and games (where permitted)
Details:ย Please keep an eye on our social media channels for exact timings.ย Following the Presentation day we will see the men’s premier league teams kick off for one final time this season 1pm & 3pm.

A full day of celebrating football awaits you all!

Friday 5 September โ€“ U16โ€“U18 & Adults
U16-U18 from 530PM followed byย the Adults Presentation Night from 7PM. Please note: the adultโ€™s event is a social night andย not suitable for kids.
Kisso Jerseys & Lost Property
All players must return theirย washedย game shirtsย to their team manager, who will return the full set to the club on presentation day.A seasonโ€™s worth ofย lost propertyย will be available for collection inside the clubhouse. Anything left unclaimed byย 2:00pm on Saturdayย will be donated to charity. Lost property includes a mountain of water bottles that are available to be washed and claimed by a new owner – let’s save the environment.
Raffle & Fundraiser
Weโ€™ll also be running a smallย Kisso fundraiser raffle. Thanks to the generosity of Workplace Law (a wonderful legal firm who loves football as much as us), we have two amazing prizes:
Signed Melbourne City Menโ€™s Shirtย โ€“ featuring Socceroo Matt Leckie.
Signed Melbourne City Womenโ€™s Shirtย โ€“ including signatures from several Young Matildas, after their top-of-the-table season. These are collectorโ€™s items and a great way to our support the club in the process!

Thank You

We know itโ€™s been a tough end to the season with so many fields washed out. While we avoided a sinkhole at Auluba, we almost ended up with a lake! Huge thanks go to our dedicated volunteers โ€” especiallyย Sam Tewater, who has been out every weekend at 7am checking grounds, mud, water, and playability. Without this kind of commitment, football wouldnโ€™t have been possible.ย We look forward to celebrating together soon. Thanksย Nic

Unless we fill these roles, the club cannot run the way it does today.
This is where YOU come in. Every single one of us is busy โ€” jobs, kids, study, businesses, caregiving โ€” but together, we make it work. Youโ€™ll never do it alone. Youโ€™ll be supported, appreciated, and part of something bigger.ย

Roles that must be filled:
VP Miniroosย โ€” ideally a parent of a 6โ€“7 year old. Nat & Rich have carried this for a decade โ€” time to give them a break!
VP Juniorsย โ€” ideally a parent of a 12โ€“13 year-old. Alia has done an incredible job but as her kids move on, so should she be allowed.
Registrarย โ€” Aron is stepping down after many years. Half covered, but only if other roles are filled.
JDL Coordinatorย โ€” ideally a parent of a JDL 8โ€“9 player. Christian has built something great โ€” now we need someone to continue it.
Manager of Menโ€™s Premsย โ€” Rohan is moving overseas. We need someone to step in.
NEW: Saturday Canteen Coordinatorย โ€” bring back the Saturday BBQ! Community is asking for it, and itโ€™s a key revenue stream.
NEW: Club Technical Directorย โ€” ensure our coaches and programs meet community needs.
NEW: Juniors Coordinatorย โ€” support the VP Juniors and strengthen this vital age group.

Thanks

Nic

Club Update: Wet Weather, Dogs at Fields, and How You Can Help

Hi Everyone,

I hope your season is going well so far! Like many of you, Iโ€™m feeling the impact of this relentless wet weatherโ€”itโ€™s been tough on our training schedules and game day. Fingers crossed for clearer skies and a drier season ahead!

Help Me, Help the Club โ€“ Opportunities

In honour of National Volunteer Week, Iโ€™m reaching out for your help. Volunteers are the heartbeat of our club, and we have a few easy, fun roles available:

  • – Video Content Creatorย โ€“ Help us create simple content for our YouTube channel (yes, we have one!).
  • – Stakeholder Managerย โ€“ Maintain a fewย key relationships throughout the year. Easy and rewarding.
  • – Mixed Juniors Coordinatorย โ€“ Work with Alia (who is a knowledge hub!) to support this area. Full training and support provided.

If youโ€™ve been waiting for the right time to get involved, this is it!

Wet Weather & Weekend Games

We know the rain has been frustrating. Iโ€™m working closely with our committee, the association, and council to explore every possible option for getting more games on over the weekends.

Weโ€™re also encouraging the association to consider make-up rounds to help offset the cancellations.

While we canโ€™t control the weather, please know weโ€™re doing everything we can to make the most of the season.

Clubhouse Fridays โ€“ Coming Back Soon!

Once the weather clears, weโ€™ll re-open our beloved Friday Clubhouse BBQ & Bar. Itโ€™s a great way to:

  • *Support the club
  • *Grab dinner for the family
  • *Soak up the community spirit that makes Kissing Point special

Whether you help out, eat, or just hang outโ€”weโ€™d love to see you there. Letโ€™s not let the rain dampen our vibe!

Welcome to Our New Sponsor โ€“ Hall & Hart

You may have seen our recent social media post announcing our newest sponsor, Hall & Hart. Weโ€™re incredibly fortunate to welcome another like-minded company into our Kissing Point family.

Our goal is to partner with sponsors who share our passion for building strong community connections and making a positive impact. Thank you, Hall & Hart, for your support!

A Quick Reminder: Dogs at Fields

Many children in our club and community are afraid of dogs. If youโ€™re bringing your dog to a football fieldโ€”ours or anyโ€”please ensure they are on a leash and under control at all times.

This includes Friday nights at the clubhouse, when the fields are busy and the smell of food is irresistible!

If your pup is anything like my dog, Teddyโ€”full of loveโ€”it may be best to leave them at home. Teddy is a sweetheart, but I know not everyone appreciates his โ€œenthusiasticโ€ personality.

That is all from me for now! See you all soon at a field.

 Thanks

Nic

2025 Season Kick off

The season is just around the corner, with our first games kicking off the weekend of 5 & 6 Aprilโ€”exciting!ย
Registration Reminder

If you havenโ€™t registered yet as aย player, coach, or manager,ย nowโ€™s the time! Our club volunteers would really appreciate it if you could complete your registration ASAP as team organisation is underway. Remember, everyone needs to be in the system before stepping onto the field.
We know Football Australia’s system changeover has caused challenges for some, to help you, weโ€™re happy to have a one-on-one with anyoneย experiencing issues. While we canโ€™t guarantee a fix (since itโ€™s a national system), weโ€™ll do our best to be there for you! Just email me for support!ย
Players Needed!

Some of our teams still need players! If you or someone you know is keen to join, register nowย or reach out to one of our volunteersโ€”weโ€™d love to have you on board.
Training Allocations

Thank you all for your patience as we finalize training schedules. Withย hundreds of moving piecesย to coordinate, I prioritize younger age groups first and I have to make adjustments as the club grows each year. The good news is Iโ€™ve secureย extra spaceย this season to accommodate more teams!ย
An updatedย training scheduleย will be posted on our website in the coming days. If you have any further training requests, please reach outย directly to meย rather than other club volunteers, as theyโ€™re busy getting teams sorted.
Get Involved!

Weโ€™reย 100% volunteer-run, and weโ€™d love your help! If you see something that needs attention or have a passion for football, letโ€™s chat.
Right now, weโ€™re specifically looking for:
Aย Merchandise Coordinatorย to help with club gear
Anย Under-12 Coordinatorย to assist with our growing junior group

Volunteering is a great way to be part of our community – and if you are one of our Juniors not only does it look good on your academic record and resume – I will personally write you a reference for your time. Maybe consider being a MiniRoos coach – the kids will love it and the parents will appreciate you! Contact us for more info!
Upcoming Events โ€“ Mark Your Calendars!
