Development Teams

Development teams are for players who want to develop their skills and play at the top levels of community football. Teams train twice a week with a professional coach. Trials are held in October-November for the following year’s winter season.

  • Families are welcome to contact our coordinators anytime.
  • Players who have not played with us previously are very welcome.
  • Players from other age groups, or who prefer to join a Community team do not need to attend the trials, and are invited to register in January.

Read on for more details.

Previously known as SAP and DEV.

JDL1 and JDL2 teams are for players who want to play at the top levels of community football. If your player is interested in being considered, please email our coordinator at jdl@kpfc.asn.au

JDL is for development-minded players wanting to play in the top division for their age group. We try to have a JDL1 and JDL2 team in each age group. more about JuNIOR DEVELOPMENT league

Junior Development League (JDL) supports skills development in a safe manner on small sided fields. Being the top division in the U8-U11 age groups, it underpins development for players aiming for Super League and Diamond League in Junior Competition (U12 and up). It is a pathway to Northern Tigers for talented players. Kissing Point FC consistently has a number of players selected in Northern Tigers representative teams. JDL teams involve:

  • 15 team competition in each age group
  • Under 8 to Under 11 age groups
  • Minimum twice per week training, with an experienced and certified coach who also oversees game day
  • An experienced and certified Technical Director and Club Coach Coordinator
  • Occasional training sessions and games with Northern Tigers teams
  • Games played at set locations, including Gala Days

For each JDL1 team, we also form a JDL2 team, which also has twice-weekly professional coached training. Players will be graded into either JDL1 or JDL2 according to past performance and trial results. We also have Community teams for each age group (with training once a week) for which players can register in January.

There are additional costs associated with JDL1 and JDL2 teams to support coaching, and expectations on players in terms of attendance and attitude at training and game days.

JDL1 and 2 teams will be largely finalised late November or early December, although some players may be taken on later. Click here for details of our grading policy.

Detailed information on coaching and costs will be provided. Training will commence in late January/early February.

Click here for details of our grading policy.

As well as Super League teams, we will look at forming Development teams in these age groups, pending the outcomes of the trials.

There will also be community teams in each age group, training once a week (registration for community teams opens in January).

The Super League teams will have dedicated, qualified coaches for twice weekly training and game day.

There are additional costs associated with Super League to support coaching payments and other costs. And there are expectations on players in terms of attendance and attitude at training and game days. This environment will be the best possible learning environment for young players to increase their football skills and play the best teams from other participating clubs.

Training will commence in late January/early February.

more about diamond league

For any questions, please email our Junior Girls VP at juniorgirls@kpfc.asn.au

Kissing Point FC is delighted to partner with Turramurra United FC in a joint venture for Diamond League.

There are additional costs associated with Diamond League to support additional coaching, and there are expectations on players in terms of attendance and attitude at training and games. Diamond League teams receive:

  • Vision Coaching training and game day coach
  • at least 20 weeks of 2 nights a week coaching
  • 16-18 weeks of matches (+ pre-season trial games)

As part of the pathway to Diamond League for girls, development opportunities are provided for our G8 to G11 players. This includes dedicated additional weekly training sessions focusing on skills and game awareness, and the creation of development teams where possible.

Players will be graded according to past performance and trial results, however, due to demand and grading we may not be able to accommodate every player into a DL or Dev team. Registration for community teams opens in January, as in past years.

Training arrangements will be confirmed soon. It is likely to be Tuesday nights at NTRA/Bannockburn Oval and Thursday or Friday nights at Auluba or Abbotsleigh.

Diamond league FAQs

Why a joint venture?

Both clubs are committed to female football, sit alongside each other geographically, and recognise that Diamond League needs to be a quality league with competitive teams. By combining forces, both clubs can enable current players to remain at their clubs and play at this level, as well as attract new players.

What if my daughter doesn’t make or doesn’t want to try out for a Diamond League team?

Your daughter will still be able to play community football at her club for the season. The aim is to provide for both community players and girls who wish to progress within the NSFA. Both clubs will continue to run as many teams as they can to serve female players, including those who want to play social football with friends.

When are the trials and how do I register?

Trials are held in November, with registration via the website.
