Upcoming Events including this weekend & Award Nominations

Dear friends,

We’re excited to share details of our upcoming end-of-year celebrations — a chance to recognise all the hard work of our players (despite this being the wettest August on record!).

Presentation Days
Saturday 30 August – Miniroos & Juniors (up to U15)
Time: From 9:00am until early afternoon
Activities: BBQ, fun photo opportunities, ice cream, and games (where permitted)
Details: Please keep an eye on our social media channels for exact timings. Following the Presentation day we will see the men’s premier league teams kick off for one final time this season 1pm & 3pm.

A full day of celebrating football awaits you all!

Friday 5 September – U16–U18 & Adults
U16-U18 from 530PM followed by the Adults Presentation Night from 7PM. Please note: the adult’s event is a social night and not suitable for kids.
Kisso Jerseys & Lost Property
All players must return their washed game shirts to their team manager, who will return the full set to the club on presentation day.A season’s worth of lost property will be available for collection inside the clubhouse. Anything left unclaimed by 2:00pm on Saturday will be donated to charity. Lost property includes a mountain of water bottles that are available to be washed and claimed by a new owner – let’s save the environment.
Raffle & Fundraiser
We’ll also be running a small Kisso fundraiser raffle. Thanks to the generosity of Workplace Law (a wonderful legal firm who loves football as much as us), we have two amazing prizes:
Signed Melbourne City Men’s Shirt – featuring Socceroo Matt Leckie.
Signed Melbourne City Women’s Shirt – including signatures from several Young Matildas, after their top-of-the-table season. These are collector’s items and a great way to our support the club in the process!

Thank You

We know it’s been a tough end to the season with so many fields washed out. While we avoided a sinkhole at Auluba, we almost ended up with a lake! Huge thanks go to our dedicated volunteers — especially Sam Tewater, who has been out every weekend at 7am checking grounds, mud, water, and playability. Without this kind of commitment, football wouldn’t have been possible. We look forward to celebrating together soon. Thanks Nic

Unless we fill these roles, the club cannot run the way it does today.
This is where YOU come in. Every single one of us is busy — jobs, kids, study, businesses, caregiving — but together, we make it work. You’ll never do it alone. You’ll be supported, appreciated, and part of something bigger.

Roles that must be filled:
VP Miniroos — ideally a parent of a 6–7 year old. Nat & Rich have carried this for a decade — time to give them a break!
VP Juniors — ideally a parent of a 12–13 year-old. Alia has done an incredible job but as her kids move on, so should she be allowed.
Registrar — Aron is stepping down after many years. Half covered, but only if other roles are filled.
JDL Coordinator — ideally a parent of a JDL 8–9 player. Christian has built something great — now we need someone to continue it.
Manager of Men’s Prems — Rohan is moving overseas. We need someone to step in.
NEW: Saturday Canteen Coordinator — bring back the Saturday BBQ! Community is asking for it, and it’s a key revenue stream.
NEW: Club Technical Director — ensure our coaches and programs meet community needs.
NEW: Juniors Coordinator — support the VP Juniors and strengthen this vital age group.

Thanks

Nic

Club Update: Wet Weather, Dogs at Fields, and How You Can Help

Hi Everyone,

I hope your season is going well so far! Like many of you, I’m feeling the impact of this relentless wet weather—it’s been tough on our training schedules and game day. Fingers crossed for clearer skies and a drier season ahead!

Help Me, Help the Club – Opportunities

In honour of National Volunteer Week, I’m reaching out for your help. Volunteers are the heartbeat of our club, and we have a few easy, fun roles available:

  • – Video Content Creator – Help us create simple content for our YouTube channel (yes, we have one!).
  • – Stakeholder Manager – Maintain a few key relationships throughout the year. Easy and rewarding.
  • – Mixed Juniors Coordinator – Work with Alia (who is a knowledge hub!) to support this area. Full training and support provided.

If you’ve been waiting for the right time to get involved, this is it!

Wet Weather & Weekend Games

We know the rain has been frustrating. I’m working closely with our committee, the association, and council to explore every possible option for getting more games on over the weekends.

We’re also encouraging the association to consider make-up rounds to help offset the cancellations.

While we can’t control the weather, please know we’re doing everything we can to make the most of the season.

Clubhouse Fridays – Coming Back Soon!

Once the weather clears, we’ll re-open our beloved Friday Clubhouse BBQ & Bar. It’s a great way to:

  • *Support the club
  • *Grab dinner for the family
  • *Soak up the community spirit that makes Kissing Point special

Whether you help out, eat, or just hang out—we’d love to see you there. Let’s not let the rain dampen our vibe!

Welcome to Our New Sponsor – Hall & Hart

You may have seen our recent social media post announcing our newest sponsor, Hall & Hart. We’re incredibly fortunate to welcome another like-minded company into our Kissing Point family.

Our goal is to partner with sponsors who share our passion for building strong community connections and making a positive impact. Thank you, Hall & Hart, for your support!

A Quick Reminder: Dogs at Fields

Many children in our club and community are afraid of dogs. If you’re bringing your dog to a football field—ours or any—please ensure they are on a leash and under control at all times.

This includes Friday nights at the clubhouse, when the fields are busy and the smell of food is irresistible!

If your pup is anything like my dog, Teddy—full of love—it may be best to leave them at home. Teddy is a sweetheart, but I know not everyone appreciates his “enthusiastic” personality.

That is all from me for now! See you all soon at a field.

 Thanks

Nic

2025 Season Kick off

The season is just around the corner, with our first games kicking off the weekend of 5 & 6 April—exciting!
Registration Reminder

If you haven’t registered yet as a player, coach, or managernow’s the time! Our club volunteers would really appreciate it if you could complete your registration ASAP as team organisation is underway. Remember, everyone needs to be in the system before stepping onto the field.
We know Football Australia’s system changeover has caused challenges for some, to help you, we’re happy to have a one-on-one with anyone experiencing issues. While we can’t guarantee a fix (since it’s a national system), we’ll do our best to be there for you! Just email me for support!
Players Needed!

Some of our teams still need players! If you or someone you know is keen to join, register now or reach out to one of our volunteers—we’d love to have you on board.
Training Allocations

Thank you all for your patience as we finalize training schedules. With hundreds of moving pieces to coordinate, I prioritize younger age groups first and I have to make adjustments as the club grows each year. The good news is I’ve secure extra space this season to accommodate more teams!
An updated training schedule will be posted on our website in the coming days. If you have any further training requests, please reach out directly to me rather than other club volunteers, as they’re busy getting teams sorted.
Get Involved!

We’re 100% volunteer-run, and we’d love your help! If you see something that needs attention or have a passion for football, let’s chat.
Right now, we’re specifically looking for:
Merchandise Coordinator to help with club gear
An Under-12 Coordinator to assist with our growing junior group

Volunteering is a great way to be part of our community – and if you are one of our Juniors not only does it look good on your academic record and resume – I will personally write you a reference for your time. Maybe consider being a MiniRoos coach – the kids will love it and the parents will appreciate you! Contact us for more info!
Upcoming Events – Mark Your Calendars!

📅 Meet the Team Night – An important event for parents – 20 March
📦 Kit Packing – Volunteers welcome! – 23 March
⚽ MiniRoos Coach & Manager Meet-up –  27 March
🚀 Training Kicks Off – Week of 31 March
Thanks for being part of our amazing football community. Looking forward to an exciting season ahead!
See you all soon!

FEMALE REFEREE COURSE

Girls and women aged 14+ are encouraged to get into refereeing. Its a great way to be active and earn cash aswell. Towards this KPFC, KDFRA and NSFA have organised a female-only referee course at Auluba on Wednesday 19th and Tuesday 25 July (two evenings), and it is free! Please enrol in the course here (http://kdfra.com.au/join/) and follow the steps. Any questions please reach out to Nicole (vpwomen@kpfc.asn.au).
DOG BITE AT AULUBA DURING TRAINING

We recently had a dog bite on one of our youngest members during weeknight training with a runner encroaching too close to our players with a dog on leash. Apart from physical safety, these incidents can be traumatic and have long lasting impacts on players. To facilitate a safe environment for all our members if I could ask our members to leave their dogs at home for games and training, particularly where/when miniroos are training and playing. If you must bring your dog, please ensure they are at a safe distance on-leash away from the players and playing fields in the least case (Auluba, Howson and Comenarra are designated on-leash areas).
RESPECT

I cannot emphasise enough the need for everyone to respect our officials and one another. Incidents continue to occur across the association, and there is simply no place in our game for disrespectful behaviour. Enjoy the game. Be positive. Be an example for our young players. If an incident occurs, please raise it straight away with your manager. Managers, please note the Issue Resolution process here.
WELCOME PIP AND THANK YOU JEREMY

A warm welcome to Pip Butron, who has kindly volunteered as our VP Men’s All Age. Pip has been a player and manager for many years and it is fantastic to have him in this role. Our sincere thanks to Jeremy Tucker who has looked after this role for three years. Jeremy is staying on as club Vice President and continues to provide invaluable service in that role.
TEAM UPDATES

While not all teams can win the comp, a few teams are having stellar seasons so far; please show them your support. The Women’s 35 Div 1,  Men’s All age Div 4, Girls Under 12 Dev Div 3 teams looking good on the top of the table and Women’s All age Div 4 and mixed U13 Div 5 not far off the pace (apologies if I’ve missed anyone).
THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS

We continue to thrive as a grass roots community club, driven by our 180+ volunteers. We have a great club and volunteers culture – our game leaders, coaches, managers, age/ground/canteen/merch/equipment/volunteer+ coordinators, committee all make this club what it is. Please reach out and say thanks.
FACILITIES TOWN HALL SESSION

As our club grows our facilities are stretched to beyond capacity for training and matches. This is due to increased participation, population and competition for use (schools, other sports and general recreation needs) and lack of possibility for new fields with the increasing demand. To address this issue, we are doing all we can to work with Council and NSFA to improve the facilities available and extend their availability. In particular, through lobbying for better drainage, lighting and upgrades of surface/turf in a strategic way to best get usage out of what is available locally. We recently engaged a consultant to provide a range of possible options. We would like to share this with the community and talk through the challenges we face going forward. I plan to hold a session in late August following the world cup to talk this through – we’ll send out details in due course.

Duke of Ed
A reminder that high school students can do all three parts of their Duke of Ed with us. Go to Volunteering.
Fields and amenities
Fields: We have engaged a consultant to provide a range of options for field usage given our growing membership and grounds being used at capacity for Winter night training in particular. We will engage with our members in the coming months about these options.

Auluba amenities: Further, progress is being made with a project to upgrade the toilets, change rooms and drainage at Auluba, including better accessibility for all. We are hopeful through engagement with council we will have improved facilities over the next year.

The Glade: Finally, we highlight opportunity for feedback on The Glade master plan due 9am April 3rd, including potential installation of lighting. That lighting would leverage the field for possible evening training, which would alleviate some pressure with growing population and football participation in our area across clubs.
Best wishes for the season
