Kissing Point FC has policies, processes and people to ensure the club is safe, fair and inclusive. We do not tolerate discrimination or harassment, and we take child safety and inclusion very seriously.
Everyone involved with the club (players, parents, spectators, volunteers) must act in accordance with the FFA National Member Protection Policy. It contains a Code of Conduct which outlines expectations of behaviour. Put simply, it asks that we respect one another. Other club policies are listed below.
All our members should understand what it takes to create a safe, fair and inclusive club. At the start of each season, we email everyone about this, and we cover this topic in pre-season presentations.
The Play by the Rules website has resources and free online training about discrimination, harassment, child safety and inclusion. All adult members, and particularly coaches and managers, are encouraged to be familiar with the content of the Play By The Rules website.
Our coaches and managers are asked to complete the Play by the Rules Child Protection Online Course (approx 1.5 hours).
Committee members are asked to complete additional online courses.
What to do if you have a problem
If you have a problem or potential complaint, your first port of call is our Member Protection Information Officer (MPIO). The MPIO’s job is to listen to issues and set out options for resolution. They can talk about your rights and responsibilities and support you during the resolution process.
Click here for MPIO contact details.
Please don’t hesitate to let the MPIO know if something goes wrong. If we know about it, we are in a position to do something about it. And please seek help as soon as possible. If an incident occurs for example on a Saturday morning, don’t wait until Monday to contact the MPIO. Your issue will be handled confidentially and fairly.
MPIOs are trained to be the first point of contact for any person considering making a complaint under the Member Protection Policy. The MPIO is responsible for providing information about a person’s rights, responsibilities and options when making a complaint or raising a concern. They provide confidential, impartial* and timely information and support during the complaint process. They do NOT investigate matters, advise or advocate for the complainant. MPIOs may elect to accompany complainants, if requested, to talk with someone else.
(*The MPIO is not an elected member of the KPFC committee).
